Congolese people…there is no need to meet with Obama

Congolese people…there is no need to meet with Obama IN

Thursday february 2nd, 2012. US Congress

We spent 120 minutes today just watching the hearing on Congo.

120 minutes that could have been spent on getting resources for the youth groups organizing on the ground… 120 minutes that could have been spent mobilizing and educating the Congolese diaspora and our partners on the ground of the nature of US foreign policy…

120 minutes that could have been spent to educate other Africans on what they should do to support the social justice movement inside the Congo…

Instead, I spent 120 minutes:

1. hearing Yamamoto equivocates time and time again

2. witnessing Yamamoto not respond to basic questions such as “is the Kabila regime a legitimate govt? what’s the difference between special advisor and special envoy? who are the neighboring countries involved in interfering in the Congo?

3. listening to Dr Baer says that he does not know what American companies are operating in the Congo… and adding he does not know if Freeport McMoran is an American company

4. hearing how Dr Mendelson is pitching for budget increase for USAID rather than being a witness to speak about what happened during the elections I can go on and on… but I am very clear that the challenge of the Congolese is being organized. If each Congolese understand it… wherever they are… and they realize that the United States government supports the dictatorial regimes in the Congo, Rwanda and Uganda, that there is no need to meet with Obama, that the American people must be made aware of what their tax money is funding in the Congo and the region, that no one will remove Kabila but Congolese… then we will get closer to liberation.

To our generation… the INGETA generation… The time is NOW… there is only NOW!

INGETA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
